I Wish You’d See

With flagrant disdain you stare at the reflection
Loathing poisons the vision that you see
Your veins ooze the deadliest of toxins
Ever known to the living, breathing mankind
Seeped into every pore it infects your world
Mirror, mirror what do you see
All of your hate glaring back at you
Your life imitating that which broods within
Weeds watered with whipping words
Aimed accurately at the arteries of your atrium
You shall never indulge in ideas of impressiveness
For you are far too busy beating yourself down
Reminding hope that you are not enough
Neither beautiful, nor wise, nor anything good
But I promise
You are all of these things and more
My wish for you is to be able to see
