Place of Peace

Or Run
And move
Sudden things
Instinct to live
No thinking required
The reptilian brain acts
Those things you do
But don’t always know why
To save yourself
Old, like a crocodile
Do not spend all your time
Living in this space
For there is no rest here
Plant the seed of an idea
A time out
For adrenaline to quiet
Silence without sleep
A comfortable place
No reason to fight
No reason to run
Reason to thrive
Find the space of nirvana
From everything within

  1. Wonderful Debbie. I really relate to this. I too have founda place of peace in the silence, following a death. I love this poem.

    1. Thank you. I am glad. It is so important to enjoy the silence. We have become a society of noise and feel uneasy with quiet, but it is the best time to hear our soul and to heal.

I wish you much healing. Sending love and light.
