Roots buried in old foundations
Furrowed deep into limiting beliefs
Framing words tossed unconsciously
Made this image that I see
Etched into the bones of my body
Programmed into every cell
I have my work laid out before me
To change these bricks that built me
Not every one needs replacing
But confidence a teetering construct
That needs forging in the fire
New footings and new glue
The things that surround it
Those things I say about myself
That I wouldn’t want others to utter
Requiring renovation
A makeover to the magic I always was
Rouse my soul to find it again and be

“Those things I say about myself
That I wouldn’t want others to utter
Requiring renovation” — That is so true for me, too!
