Ticked Task List

The distraction that so often takes me for long walks
Far from the focus that concentration of my mind ought
Given to fleeting glances of its lustful indulgent temptation
It offers me an outstretched hand in companionable support
Of avoiding that which I do not understand my equivocation for
Because when I return from my jaunt, the task still remains
Waiting for completion
Not miraculously carried out by another in my absence
To choose
Go now and continue with the job, or leave it unachieved
There is another
To procrastinate further
And never get anything done
I choose
My following stroll to be with achievement and accomplishment
For though you are most enticing in your dashing deception
You cannot leave me fulfilled
As do a ticked task list
