Pockets of Confidence

Melodic words have abandoned me
My song seems to have already been sung
Each time I try to pen the thoughts
They sound oddly familiar
I wonder if I’m echoing words already read
Fear of reprisal at their unconscious purloin
I abandon their poetic tune

Midsentence

Wipe what my fingers have pounded
And stare at the blank space
Emotions in turmoil, doubt winning out
At my intended purpose with sentence creation
The fungus of insecurity left in darkness
To smoulder, intoxicate and multiply
A rot to annihilate rare pockets of confidence
But kind words and encouraging comment
Strengthen one over the other

Possibility

A hidden gem in decaying dirt
Reflecting the fraction of light beginning to shine
Hope, the spark to be infected
Wishes for a rapid spread and overtake
An infestation of sparkle in positivity
