The gentle breeze played with a wisp of hair
Lost in thought she never noticed
For she lived in a time long ago
Never leaving the chasms of her mind
Climbing the sheer cliffs of memories
Always in the shadows of sorrowful darkness
Always struggling the force of their pull
Only her body existed in this moment
Blame, retribution and violent rage
Stole her daily breath of sunshine
An explorer of the past, drowning in maybe
Until she received a life vest of hope
Choice
Her choice
Today
Yesterday no longer has power
When she dances with the wind
And shines brighter than the sun

Aaaaah! Debbie – I loved this from start to finish. I am leaving the house with a huge smile on my face and will think about this all day 🙂
