Seeking Reason

Thick, dense and impenetrable
I wonder in the fog of my mind
Fingers grated red and raw
Grappling to hang onto life
Breathing free, but lost
In a mere existence of days
Flowing into one another
No significance or importance
Disorganized stumbling
To continue on the path
Make ends meet
Trudging through the dark
In search of the means
To lift this suffocating haze
Let the breeze whisper in
Blow these boulders of mist away
And on its tail deliver
Dreams and hopes
Sunlight and moonbeams
Joy and happiness
Letting clarity of thought
Find purpose in living
