Adjusting Your Aim

Secret dreams held close to the heart
Ridicule and judgement avoided
In the hiding of these sumptuous wishes
Of bigger and better and rainbows and sunshine
Taught that greed is not for the common man
Unhealthy, unwise and improper to want
The daydreamer scorned for laziness
Lofty goals ferreted away in journals
Attitudes followed changing times
Youth now encouraged to follow their dreams
The bigger the goals the better
Shoot for the stars they say
Not limited to the young
You too can adjust your aim
Even if you class as older
Life to be lived by all
Until our last breath is drawn
