The thread hangs loose
Begun to unravel
For the finest silken life
Is falling fast apart
Panels becoming undone
Separating into individuals
Children watch from the bench
Often times dragged in
What should be tightly woven fabric
Disintegrates with fray and tattering
To homeless rags of resentment
Needles flung to hurt
Pinpricks of anger replace consideration
Offspring meant to be protected
Brandished as deadly weapons
Not scissors used for clean cutting
But tearing and ripping to shred
Destruction of one another
Leaves moth eaten holes
In the hearts of little witnesses
Now jaded and bitter
By what love should have been
