I picture it in detail
Our meeting after years
Icicles hanging in the air
Between unsaid words
Frozen in perceived wrongs
Even the warmth of DNA
Cannot melt this chill
Too much has passed
Slights and avoidances
A yearning for
More amicable relations
Brings only empty longing
In unfeeling actions
That you have set in stone
We part ways again
You, with my pulsing heart
Empty from the outflow of love
Desperately sent your way
On wishful clouds of intention
Arctic tundra slush
Runs down my face
At the missed relationship
But I always wish you well
