Tethered to Mother Earth
Gaia holds her tight
As she stretches to her potential
Far into the blue azure sky
Branches waving in soft breezes
Thrashing in the winds of storm
She weathers them all
But a crack of lightening
Could split her in two
Send her to cinders in flames
Or should the foundations of her anchors
Become muddy and unstable
Her tall willowy figure shall fall
But now as she stands here so tall
I shall marvel at the beauty of her form
Take refuge in the shelter of her leaves
And love this beautiful, elegant tree
