Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “dom.” Use it as a word, or find a word that starts or ends with it. Have fun!
Stupid? No, no, this is an English blog not Afrikaans (a language spoken in South Africa). Runs to Google… So dom is a title, which I would expect to begin with a capital letter, but it doesn’t always. For a Portuguese man it has a capital letter usually, but not the monks.
I hear their beautiful chants floating on the wind, creating peace and harmony and I so admire their ability to find their inner being in the silence of meditation. I wonder if they are like me with their minds fighting that silence with a speed train of thoughts per second when I meditate. How quickly can they shut it down? I assume the years of training and practise have made it easier. I still struggle to achieve the quiet mind, but I have accepted that thoughts will come and as long as I release them to float away on a cloud it is okay.
When I know turning off the voices is going to be near impossible I let someone else’s voice guide me through my meditation, but occasionally I try without the influence of another so that I can touch the voices of the angels, guides and messengers who are waiting to tell me what I need to know.
In the chants of the Om…
The Gregorian vibration to the soul
Emitting the frequencies of peace
Tranquility and harmony to be found
Within the skin of your body
Transmitted to you in the air
To pass on the loving energy
Building a world of care
Messages from angels and guides
Whispers to be shared
Being of calm floating
