I chisel the powdery white filler
From the cracks of my heart
A temporary solution
I remove the plasters
And lay bare the scars and gouges
Not to decorate over and hide
I wear each as a badge of honour
For I have earned each pain
My pedigree is not defined
By a perfectly in tack heart
But rather how I fill the fractures
Once I have explored each sharp edge
Understood every chip and dent
Embraced mistakes as lessons
And piped the love of myself
Into the crevices and holes
That it may beat for me first
