Love of My Life

You disrupt the beating of my heart
Interfere with my natural respiration
Not a storybook Romeo to my Juliet
But a real flesh and blood man
No romance novel Heathcliff
But dependable and stead fast
You are the yin to my yang
I am whole and complete without you
But choose to be part of us
My insanity today
My sanity tomorrow
Not my better half, but my equal
You are the love of my life
