The swallow flies, one of the flock
To warmer places once the leaves turn
When white and pink cosmos bloom
They gather to prepare for the journey
To summer they migrate each year
And back to summer they return
Never enduring winter’s cold
Not feeling the nip of Jack Frost
But also, never cuddling to keep warm
To each their own temperate desires
It won’t be long before the birds are back
