Recharge

The frayed edges of my psyche float nearby
Touching all energy that passes my way
Tingles of validity and light whisper past
Amid electric shocks of hostility
Like a sea sponge I soak it all up
Dimming my intended iridescent light
Sharpening these shredded edges
To jagged combative spikes
I retreat now to tend my tarnished veil
Into silence, into the blackness of solitude
I transmute these tattered fringes
Into rays of colored possibilities
I emerge, recharged and ready for this day
