Following My Compass

My compass needle began to swing
A slow, almost unnoticeable nudge
Oscillating with the tug of resistance
The more I awakened, the more I noticed
The
More
It
Swung
The magnetic pull getting stronger
The new direction flowing in harmony
The firmer your hold to keep me back
The easier it was to walk away
Change was inevitable, leaving too
Because I found my course
And it was in the opposite direction of you
My
Steps
Got
Faster
The
Swing
A
Wide
Arc
Running now towards my true self
No longer hiding away, denying me
I too have something to offer
Someone to be
