Shining Desire

It sparkles in the distance
Just beyond your finger tips
Outstretched arms and digits
Come up short to obtain
No matter how strong the desire
The shimmer stays out of reach
Only that which is meant
Will fall within your grasp
Have faith though it is beyond
There is a brighter gem shining for you
Keeping your eyes open for it
Not closed in wishes for that which passed
