Education Confined

They planted her within brick walls
Grey cement floor beneath her
White board and screen ahead
Gave her numbers, words and facts
Required to repeat and regurgitate
Forbidding free thinking and new ideas
Adherence to the rules and regulations
No matter how illogical or militant
Taught to be a follower and not a leader
A good, obedient citizen to be made
Unfortunately she always found trouble
For her free spirit could not be bound
Her talents untapped in creation
Released to nature and the earth
She took root and blossomed
Did not fail nor become dead weight
For in this freedom she found purpose
Space and opportunity to be
The stifled magnificence she always was
