Her lungs rattled a final farewell
Thanked the earth for its hospitality
Those that had long since passed
Came closer, taking her in their arms
They led her soul to the here after
Leaving just a body for us to cry over
A frail and fickle vessel
Had served her spirit’s journey
Neither here nor there
Would she be alone
But for a while we would feel lonely
