Angry Red Pen

Red ink scratched across blue scrawl
Bleeding wounds in processed tree pulp
Harsh, angry marks of correction
Indented indignation slashed across the page
Tearing and shredding like tissue
Spoiling that which lies beneath
While trying in a vain attempt
To erase incompetence and stupidity

A water droplet seeps pain, infiltrating the fury
Plastic pen splinters by the hand of burning rage
Dejection slowly suffocates the frenzied inferno
Doused embers flicker out their last light
Like enthusiasm, idealism and optimism
Withering to the wishes of the wind storm
Crushed by system and entitled culture
While attempting to be the one to educate
