Your World

In sleep and in wake you are totally unaware
For you live in your bubble all about you
No consideration for others that don’t benefit you
Living in the future or sometimes in the past
You miss the pretty bird and the flower that passed
No gratitude for a simple blue sky or breathe of air
You go through life living mostly in your head
Having been here and done these things before
You have no idea the life you could possibly lead
If only you’d lift your head up and see
Take in the world that is happening around you
Absorbing all the wonder and the magic there
Instead you live in a most lonely place
Never noticing all the amazing things
But you wouldn’t know this to be true
Because for that you would need to be aware.
