Thoughts to Reality

The average pencil is seven inches long, with just a half-inch eraser in case you thought optimism was dead.

Robert Brault

Swimming in the sludge of negative scenarios
Of the darkest, dread-filled possibilities
My mind asphyxiated by the putrid smog
Of these rotting detrimental thoughts
Blinded to silver linings and sunshine in the rain
Waiting for the rainbow at the end of this storm
To pull me from this quagmire of deprecation
To deliver an eternally flowing pot of gold
As I ride atop my unicorn into the sunset.

In this cynicism blooms the simple solution
Faith-filled imagination of fantastic frivolity
Belief in inconceivable, unimaginable potentiality
Of rainbows, unicorns, magic and mystery
Focal relocation from mind to body
Migration from thought to living
Disassemble and decimate the village of doom
Constructed on the nerve endings of the brain
Prevent thought eventuating into life.
