Renew Every Day

It’s a day to go and we wrack our brains.
Ideas for self-improvements swirl around,
Along with promises of a better year.
The renewal of our efforts boosted by the word
New in the approaching New Year.
Representing something fresh,
Filled with opportunities and resolutions.
But in truth these are just more days
Following on from the last,
And every one is a potential new start.
For it is what we choose it to be
And what we choose to do with it.
Make wise choices and release the unwise,
Carry no excess baggage into tomorrow.
Regret and guilt thieves of peace,
Lock them far away and leave their
Damaging energy behind you,
With just a little note not to reemploy them
In the life that you wish to live.
