Make your dreams reality

Make your dreams reality

Secured in a chain of bubbles
Delicate fragility floating around
The treasures of the hopeful
Dreams, goals and aspirations
May your bubbles land gently
In the safe palms of your hands
Transmuting energy to action
To see the light of your wishes

Happy New Year. May 2017 bring more beautiful words from my talented friends around me and may I discover more of the amazing people on WordPress.

I Decide

I Decide

Beyond my reach
Out of my control
Decisions of the Universe
Actions for you to take
I only have myself
Whom I can steer and navigate
I’ve moped and cried
On things you’ve done
And worldly happenings
But now I know this is for naught
For only I get to decide
My reactions to the drama
And the impact it will be.

Renew Every Day

Renew Every Day

It’s a day to go and we wrack our brains.
Ideas for self-improvements swirl around,
Along with promises of a better year.
The renewal of our efforts boosted by the word
New in the approaching New Year.
Representing something fresh,
Filled with opportunities and resolutions.
But in truth these are just more days
Following on from the last,
And every one is a potential new start.
For it is what we choose it to be
And what we choose to do with it.
Make wise choices and release the unwise,
Carry no excess baggage into tomorrow.
Regret and guilt thieves of peace,
Lock them far away and leave their
Damaging energy behind you,
With just a little note not to reemploy them
In the life that you wish to live.

Trust Thief

Trust Thief

I believed in the good of people
Never looking for the ulterior motive
Perhaps the innocence of childhood
A naivety to that which is sour and sore
You taught me the other way
Pillaged my heart and mind of trust
Replaced by suspicion and doubt
A lesson my spirit endevours to adjust

What did you do?

What did you do?

I give no standing ovations just because of who you are
Your title, bloodline, fame, fortune or worldly possessions
Make not a great person or someone I wish to honour
I raise my head and salute those whose actions shout
Admire and celebrate those who do for their fellow man
In the quiet and darkness of the performance itself
Not in the spotlight and praise of a fandom
At the time of your passing, your doing will persist
In those you’ve made a helpful difference to.

Overdose

Overdose

I’m all peopled out
I’ve had my fill
I beat a hasty retreat
To find solitude
Time to recover
In silence and rest
My body quivers
Suffering an overdose
Of company and chatter
Little explosions
Inside of my head
Intensify the tremor
Of the anxiety grip
Madness balances the cliff
One unintentional word
Tips me over the edge
So for your sake and mine
Leave me alone and in peace
To locate my sanity
And still my unease

Not In The Mood

Not In The Mood

When the lights are twinkling
and all are of good cheer,
When the dinner is plentiful
and joy is all around,
How can you say your heart’s
not in it?
Your festive spirit can’t be found.
You know that you are blessed
Others don’t have anyone in town
But still you have no feel for the season
For all that you see is money being spent,
Gifts expected and consumerism abound.
Not looking for religious reason,
But more meaning and something special today.
Looking for a missing piece,
The wherefore of it all.
Searching for the source of happiness
Found only in the act of spreading it around.
