He was given to hyperbole
His every statement an exaggeration
When he said a storm was coming
A little rain was all we waited for
On this day we were unprepared
And down it came with vengeance
Hail, wind and so much rain
None of us had taken cover
Like the little boy who cried wolf
We didn’t believe a word
This weatherman had said
When he came to see the broken bones
And concussions we’d all suffered
He sadly bowed his head
And regretted every overstatement he had said.
