Grave of Inspiration

Grave of Inspiration

The silence is eerie
The mind a haunted graveyard
Bare of all else but skeletons
Of old ideas and thoughts
And brief apparitions
Of a new tale to weave
Not a spot of ink nor bloodshed
Taints the ghostly white page
The block of demons
Taunting to be exorcised
But the witch will have her way
We’ll be forced to wait
Until she waves her magic wand
And strikes with inspiration

I am here

I am here

Eyes damp and face streaked
For this there is no need
I’ve only moved away
No longer contactable by phone
Nor email or video conference
But by silence you will reach me
Sit in quiet stillness and think
The conversation that you wish to speak
Wait a while and listen and believe
And you will hear my reply
Though I’m no longer of this earth
My soul remains within your compass
Imagine that my arms surround you
Close your eyes and you will surely feel
The comfort of my embrace
I have not abandoned nor left you all alone
For now I’m with you in every moment
You only need look through the third eye
And you will feel me warm against your skin
Or the chill of bumpy flesh as you realize
It is me who just walked by.

Giants

Giants

A giant amongst man
Achieves greatness
When that strength
Is used to help the fallen
Not to stand
On the heads of others
To reach their goal
But to pull them up
To stand with them
And then hold them
On their shoulders
So that they may both
Know what is ahead.

Bridge the gap

Bridge the gap

A gap we need to bridge
A misunderstanding
A difference between us
The bridge could be high
Or low to the ground
Scary or evoking no fear
Approach with good intention
Positive with expected resolve
Look not upon the other side
As the enemy to fight
Step not with the only outcome
That you are right
For what is right if a war is waged?

Destructive

Destructive

I was the fire
Leaving charred remains
And smouldering hearts
When the smoke cleared
But I moved on in that grey cloud
Never seeing what I left behind
Until one day my self-destruction
Rendered me paralysed
Unable to flee the scene
Of the devastation I had caused
Before me broken and tortured souls
By my selfish, thoughtless behaviour.
