Moms and dads don’t rise so quickly when your little one calls
If there is no harm nor foul and no emergency cry
But rather just assistance with a task is needed
Take your time, don’t jump in and fix it for them
For much is learnt in their trying, in their attempts
Let your hero cape hang limp
Rather marvel in the magic of their struggle
Many times they’ll surprise themselves
You won’t have to get up at all
