Beauty

What is this beauty word we speak of?
Like it matters so much to life itself
For the way that something is perceived
Is but a subjective opinion of another
Don’t allow the assessment of any one
To dampen nor improve your spirit
For if their mood be of a sour one today
Their judgement is sure to be so too
Reclaim your power, by hearing their view
But let it rest upon the surface of your skin
To be washed off with water
Not absorbed within, to require scrubbing
