A child dropping piles of sand from the heavens
Compacted and sculpted by wind and water
Creating a landscape of mountains and valleys
Dusted with trees and grass and rocks standing tall
These are the sentinels surrounding us
And the guardians we wind our way through and around
Protecting and watching the natural beauty below
Providing shelter for wild animals and birdlife
From the traffic of humans come to see the magic
That they have always known as home
The stunning Lowveld that we have come to enjoy
But when did a space start belonging to the people
Where they could make profit to partake in the paradise
That which nature gave freely and we have come to destroy
The children have left the heavens and will not replace
That which we are decimating daily with what we call progress
